Funding News Round-up 25 June 2008

Quick round-up of today’s funding and related news:

  • Unity Trust Bank has launched a new Community Asset Transfer (CAT) loan account. Community asset transfer is all about the sale or transfer of public assets (such as disused or underused buildings) to community ownership or management. For example, a local authority transferring a disused building to be owned and managed by a local community centre. The press release from Unity is available here.
  • The Charity Commission has released updated guidance on Complaints about Charities.
  • The Jospeh Rowntree Foundation has produced a new research report on the challenges of community engagement and community cohesion work. The report is free to download from the JRF website.
  • The Cass Centre for Charity Effectiveness are looking for volunteers to help trial their new website resource on how to set up and run small community organisations. More information on how to get involved is available from here.
