Breakfast Club Plus Awards
The awards are designed to recognise, promote and celebrate the good practice and benefits of breakfast clubs in the UK.
For the 2008 competition, the awards focus on excellence and innovation in the following five key categories:
- Community involvement.
- Promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- Long life and sustainability.
- Extra learning.
- ‘Breakfast Club Champion’.
Awards of £1,500 will be made to a winner in each category, and £500 to a runner-up in each category.
In addition, the awards will reward the best breakfast club in each UK country: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.
The winner of the Country Award will be chosen from the entrants to the
above five key categories and will receive £1,500, with one runner up winning a twelve month supply of breakfast cereal which meets the Government’s nutritional guidelines.
There will also be a Local Authority Award to the local authority in the UK which has done the most to promote breakfast clubs.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 12th December 2008.
