Funding News Round-up 19 December 2008
A quick round-up of today’s funding and related news:
- The Charity Commission has produced some new guidance on the public benefit requirement for charities. The guidance is available from the Charity Commission website.
- Voluntary Action Rotherham are running an event to help organisations learn more about contracting with The Probation Service to provide ‘Unpaid Work’ placements for offenders on Community Orders. The event runs from 11.30am - 1.00pm on 28 January 2009 at Voluntary Action Rotherham. More information and details of how to book a place are available on the Voluntary Action Rotherham website.
- The Department of Health has published the latest part of its NHS Next Stage Review. This part is all about what the review means for the Third Sector. You can download the review from the Department of Health website and read NAVCA’s comments about it on this page.
- The Office of the Third Sector has published a revised guidance document to help charities, professional fund-raisers and commercial participators involved in fund-raising ventures, to comply with changes have been made to legal requirements. The guidance is available to download from this page.
- Enterprise Discovery (a project of Key Fund Yorkshire) is offering two free workshops to support new and emerging social enterprises in Doncaster. Both workshops are on Thursday 22 January 2009 at The Terrace, Castle Avenue, Conisbrough, Doncaster. The first workshop is from 10am - 1pm on Selling your Enterprise - how to market your social enterprise effectively; the second is 2pm - 5pm on Selling Yourself - building confidence and self-belief.
