News from Humber Learning Consortium
- The Humber Learning Consortium are holding formal launch events for Community Grants in Sheffield and Barnsley:
Sheffield:
Venue: Voluntary Action Sheffield, The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield, S1 4FW
Friday 10th July 2009, 10am
Barnsley:
Venue: Voluntary Action Barnsley, The Core, County Way, Barnsley S70 2JW
Tuesday 14th July 2009, 10am
At the events, groups will be able to chat to the Community Grants team about potential applications.

- Community Grants can award up to £12,000 to voluntary and community organisations in Yorkshire and the Humber that provide learning opportunities aiding un-employed people aged 18+ work towards a job or training.
Priority groups include people with health conditions and disabilities; lone parents; the over 50s; and people from ethnic minority communities. The scheme is financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and is co-financed by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).

There are monthly deadlines until March 2010. The next two deadlines are Friday 5 June 2009 and Friday 10 July 2009.
