Posted by Bianca

The final round of the COMMA Fund 2008-11 will open for applications from 1 March 2010.

COMMA is one of the grant programmes delivering funding from the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund, delivered by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE), which supports community projects in areas affected by quarrying.

Application forms and guidance will be available from the ACRE website from the launch date, however it is predicted that there will be no major changes from the guidance issued last year. Grants of £3,000 - £20,000 will be available.

Project must be within 10 kilometres of an aggregates extraction site, either current or disused, benefit the whole community and be completed by March 2011.

Community organisations, registered charities or a parish/town councils are eligible to apply.

The deadline for applications is Friday 14 May 2010.
