According to the Charities Aid Foundation's UK Giving Report 2019, which looks at how individuals give to charity in the UK, 57% of people asked have given to charitable causes in the last year, with 31% given in the last month. Although there is a decline in people saying they are donating to charities, those that are donating are giving more. November and December remain as the peak giving months (and these months are the main months for donating cash!) Interestingly, fewer people say they have been asked approached to donate money than in previous years...
This interactive training session provides participants with an introductory broad overview of the different ways of raising money from individuals for their projects such as online giving platforms, Gift Aid and running lotteries and quiz type activities at events.
Participants will begin to explore how to collect money from individuals that are appropriate to the work of their group, organisational capacity, and to help widen their funding base.
