Independant examination of accounts

Posted by Peter

It is vital to have accounts that comply with regulations laid down by your regulatory body, such as the Charities Commission or Companies House, and this may require independant examination, or an audit for larger organisations.

Even if you're just a constituted group, it's always good to have this done, as it shows your community (and potential funders) that you take seriously your responsibility in handling other people's money.

Voluntary Action Sheffield's Community Accountacy team can prepare and independently examine the accounts of charities and social enterprises with an income of less than £500,000 (including charitable companies).
