EVENT on Tue 5 Apr 2016 : Sheffield Funding Forum - the basics of funding

Posted by Peter

What do you need in place before you can start fundraising?

What are the different sources of funds?

Which would be the right ones for your project?

This session is aimed at people who are new to fundraising, either as a volunteer with a community group, or a paid worker with a bigger organisation. It will go through the basics, and help you decide which are the areas you need to look at to fund your activities.

Keith Levy, Small Grants Worker with Voluntary Action Sheffield, will go through what arrangements groups need to be in place to start fundraising - who should be on the committee and how you look after your money

Peter Foyle, Funding Adviser for SYFAB, will talk about the different sources - ones you've heard of, and plenty you haven't, and how to decide which ones to approach.

So if you've just started as a fundraiser, whether you volunteered yourself or were 'volunteered' by others because no-one else would do it, this session will help you learn what to do.
