The Big Lottery Fund (BLF) is a major funder of voluntary sector activities. It has two open access funds which aim help people and communities most in need.
Awards for All is the small grant fund, up £10,000, which will fund all kinds of community activities, and is a significant funder of activities for many smaller groups, or to run pilot projects for larger organisations
Reaching Communities can give grants of several hundred thousand pounds, and is crucial for larger organisations delivering projects over several years.
Both schemes will fund a wide range of activities, but as with any funder it is important to know what they want to see in an application, and how to prepare one that will stand a good chance of succeeding.
Lesley Wilkinson is our Local Funding Officer for BLF, and will go through the key points for each scheme, as well as talking about how they assess applications. With Reaching Communities bids, it is particularly important that they show how they link in with similar activities, and Lesley will explain how they look at this.
If you are planning to apply to either of these schemes, or just want to get an idea of whether BLF might be a suitable funder for you, please book a place.
