The SYFAB training programme is designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to fulfil your fundraising aspirations.
The training programme covers a range of fundraising themes across various levels (including beginner, intermediate and advanced).
We find participants learn from each other and often make useful connections that continue outside of the classroom.
In our training consultation, 85% of people said they would prefer online learning for now, so all of our training sessions will remain on Zoom in our Virtual Classroom for now, (plus we know it works so well):
“To be honest I’ve always been a bit wary about online training, thinking it was a poorer substitute for live training, however I now see how online training works, the breakout rooms etc and to be honest I now prefer online to classroom. It was a wonderful experience”.
- Attended ‘Making the Ask; Making the Move’ - Virtual Classroom
“This is the best zoom course I've been on in the last few months. The activities were not complicated but really useful and I have taken loads away from today”.
- Attended Introduction to Fundraising - Virtual Classroom

Sheffield voluntary and community sector organisations
A selection of our training sessions, which focus on different types of funding, are subsidised by Sheffield City Council for voluntary and community groups whose work benefits Sheffield residents. Sessions that are eligible for this subsidy will be highlighted under the ‘Cost’ section on the booking page. Eligible groups can access two subsidised places per session. Places are limited and bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.
